This ornamented staircase beckons those who do the Coastal Walk past Sydney’s Eastern Beaches. If walkers are tempted to leave the path and climb the stairs what would greet them at the top?

It was unusual. I’d love to know the story behind the mosaics.

I certainly hope there’s fresh lemonade once I reach the top. Love that stairs.

That’s a nice thought. By the time we reached this point we’d been walking for 2 hours and fresh lemonade would have perfect.

We didn’t go up. We were intent on reaching the end of the walk and didn’t think of it.

Now I wish I had climbed it. I suppose there was a street at the top. The houses there would have the most gorgeous view of the ocean and cliffs.

What indeed would greet them at the top? Success? Freedom to walk further?? I remain intrigued.

Well, we did. At the time we were totally focussed on reaching the end of the walk at Bondi Beach, and the weather wasn’t great, so we just kept on going.
