The Rotorua Museum of Art and History is located in what was once the famous Bath House. The geothermal spas inside the building were known across the world for their therapeutic benefits. The viewing platform on the roof affords a panoramic outlook over the city of Rotorua and its lake, but it was the details in the Elizabethan style roof itself that captured my attention.
Oh it’s quite an amazing place isn’t it? so out of place. I got some good pics there too.

What interesting roof profiles these are indeed. The cupolas speak of a very different time and rich architectural history. The viewing platform interests me but so does the bath house history. I’d love to travel and tour the place from the bottom to the top.

One whole section of the museum was dedicated to the history of the Bath House. It was fascinating.

These are beautiful photos, both landscape and portrait. I like the museum, but would have preferred the geothermal baths! 🙂
