When travelling, one of the niceties we all look forward to is easy access to rest rooms, as Mrs Carmichael recently mentioned in this post. Usually we’re grateful if they are clean and well-maintained. When they come with a great location, that’s a bonus. Here are some loos and their amazing views…
Mt Wellington Lookout, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia
And finally, a loo with a view of you…eeeew!
I am loving the Mungo loo.

Very primitive compared to the others.

Think it might be something about the name.

Maybe. I wasn’t game to look inside in case there were living things already in residence.

These are fabulous! The multiple seat one is a shocker. Well maintained perhaps but community crappers are not my style.

There are some stunning views there – do you actually get that view from your ‘seat’ in the loo? Fabulous if you do.

I will have to take more notice next time I dash to the loo. I’m usually getting complaints from the car so daren’t even think to get my camera out! I would be terrified if I stepped out of the toilet and came face-to-face with an emu!

Me too. I was chased by one when I was seven and it left a psychological scar!!

Oh no, that’s scary. I have been ‘followed’ and pecked by one but with a fence between us and that was bad enough.

It was scary, and we found out later that this particular emu had a reputation for chasing children, knocking them down and standing on them. What a charmer!

Sounds dangerous! Why would it stand on children? Weird!

Maybe he was a psycho bird…that’s Justin Beaver’s theory anyway.

I bet he wouldn’t like to come up close to it that’s for sure…

Thanks for inviting me! The Mt Wellington was definitely the best, closely followed by the glacier.

Brilliant post Carol, love it, I love loo’s with a view too. There used to be, don’t know if it still is, but in the city here there were some loos very high up with some of the best views of Melbourne, Collins street I believe. I only saw it once, but it was amazing.

I remember a really, really horrible loo in NZ. I just couldn’t wait. Of course 1 km down the road, we arrived at a town unexpectedly. Darn, I could have waited that long!! I am still traumatized by it.
By the way, I could get lost reading your blog. So many good memories of Australia… I didn’t remember the Mt. Wellington lookout being a loo.
