Zigzag patterns, both natural and man-made, catch the eye all along the boardwalk at Wanggoolba Creek on Fraser Island. Sunlight sparkling on a delicate spider’s web; the sharp leaves of the palms on the creek bank; a walking track with lots of corners; the aerial roots of a climbing fig. Zigzags are everywhere.
Zigzags are certainly everywhere 🙂

Love the boardwalk, and I got a geography lesson because I looked up to see exactly where it was. Thank you. 🙂

Fraser Island is an amazing place…you should visit there Judy. I wrote a series of posts about the Island if you would like to read more. You’ll find them in the months of June and July 2013, or just do a search. Happy reading.

I love that zig-zaggy boardwalk, Carol. The fern leaves are perfect too. Lovely spot. 🙂

It was such a pretty place and we were the only ones there so it was very peaceful too.

That’s a great collection of zig zags. I love the boardwalk, and how the tree is accommodated in the middle of it!

I think that’s why the boardwalk is so zigzaggy. It has to go around and between all the trees. It was a gorgeous place.

It’s so good that they didn’t just chop the trees down to make way for the boardwalk – something that I think might happen in other places.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service here is very environmentally conscious and Fraser Island is a World Heritage Site so they probably wouldn’t be allowed to chop down trees even if they wanted to.

That’s good to hear. I think more and more places are becoming environmentally aware these days.

Everywhere you show us is so artistic. We have an abundance of forests here, but the path isn’t usually so picturesque. This was the perfect choice for the zig zag challenge. 🙂

Thanks. I liked the way they went around the trees instead of removing them.

And you probably took the picture before the challenge came up!
