Nature’s Designs ~ Weekly Photo Challenge ~ Ornate

When spring comes to Western Australia the wildflowers bloom in abundance. At first glance the blossoms look simple but closer inspection reveals the fine details. These wildflowers were all found in the Shark Bay World Heritage Area.

    • The only one I know is the yellow one, which is an everlasting daisy, also known as a paper daisy. I loved the purple ones in the second photo, and we saw them in lots of places including a botanic garden. I’m sure they were the only flowers in the garden without a name on them which was a little frustrating.

    • Me too. I find sometimes close up photos look great on the small camera screen but on the computer they are blurry or grainy. So it’s exciting when they actually turn out well. I have more gorgeous wildflower pics coming up soon in a post about Kings Park in Perth.
