Holiday in Hawaii #2
It wasn’t the movement that caught my eye but the vibrant red of this Brazilian Cardinal as he darted from tree branch to grass and back again.

Thanks Judy. That’s a lovely compliment. I took lots of blurry photos because he just wouldn’t stop moving. Eventually I managed to catch him at the right moment.

Thank you Charlie. He was in the perfect position on that branch. It was just a matter of catching him at the right moment – easier said than done! I was excited to get this shot.

He was difficult to capture, because he never stopped moving. He was lovely to watch.

I’m not so hot on bird photos, though that doesn’t stop me from trying, most end up in the bin!

Tell me about it! Mr ET takes lots and ends up with some very nice ones while most of mine are terrible. You can imagine my excitement when I do get a good one.

Isn’t he just. I was so excited to see one cardinal, and then we saw lots of them over the two weeks.

You certainly couldn’t miss that vibrant red head. But catching him in a photo would not be easy, well done…

I deleted so many blurry shots and I was thrilled to get this nice one. He only sat there for a few seconds. Thank you!

Definitely. I love my Panasonic TZ60. It’s light enough to carry around my neck all day, it has an amazing zoom and lots of other great features.

I’d never seen a cardinal. We don’t have them, so you can imagine how thrilled I was.

I’ve seen them here in Florida at the nature reserve, but not in the garden.

After the excitement of seeing this one, we actually saw them in several places on Maui and Oahu.
