Goin’ Cruising #1
Last week we went sailing – on the beautiful P&O cruise ship Pacific Dawn.
Our seven night cruise began in the river city of Brisbane. We sailed north between the Great Barrier Reef and the Queensland coast to Airlie Beach, Cairns and Port Douglas, before heading 450 km east to Willis Island, a tiny speck of land in the Coral Sea. Our return journey took us into open waters outside the reef on our way back to Brisbane.
Our week was one of opposites – relaxation and activity, calm waters and rolling waves, a big ship and little boats.
This looks so relaxing. Lovely photos and perfect contrasts on the water.

The whole week was like that, calm and relaxing with the most fantastic scenery.

So I have your next two holidays sorted – Hawaii first and then a cruise! 🙂

You have indeed. Now if you could just sort out the funds too that would be great! Haha. 🙂

Thank you, Cathy. It was fabulous. It was our first cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The best thing was the glorious tropical temperature when it was very wintery at home.

I wasn’t sure I would have any that fit the challenge and then I found these three, all taken on the same day. Meant to be!

Great choices for a difficult challenge. So, how did you like the cruise? I’ve thought about doing one, but not sure.

It was our first ocean cruise and we thought a seven day one was enough to find out if we like it. We went with another couple who are good friends and we had a wonderful time. We joined in lots of activities and went ashore at each port. We will definitely do another one.

What an apt choice and timing of the cruise and prompt challenge! The hard stones and soft ripples of water is the photo I liked.

We’re back home and it’s very cold so I can look at these photos and pretend I’m back there in the sunshine.

Thank you. It would be interesting to know the story behind that sunken boat.

It looks idyllic, and very restful (although maybe the rougher waters weren’t very restful!).

Even the rougher water wasn’t very rough. We were quite fortunate to have such glorious weather all week.
