September: Flower Portrait
There’s no doubt about it – in summer, England does potted plants better than anywhere else I’ve been. Beautiful baskets hang on every building, overflowing with geraniums, fuschias and lobelia.
Colourful pots and boxes adorn every spare corner and line every street.
Of all the spectacular blooms I’ve seen, the vibrant begonias are my favourite.
The richness and ruffles of the supersize blooms surprise me each time, and I have to stop and take one more photo.

I remember the lush window boxes and planters from our trip to England. I was reminded of them in Ireland because they do them quite well also. The begonias have big happy faces. Beautiful.

That top hanging basket is wonderful – when I grow up I am going to have hanging baskets like that! 😉 I love begonia, particularly trailing ones, because they are so vibrant and the blooms last for a long time.

I was surprised to see them looking so beautiful and fresh so late in the season. They really looked great.

It’s probably something to do with having had a wet spring, or late summer or something, but I do think that begonias give good value for money and last a long time.

Beautiful blooms in Britain 🙂 I was very surprised to see so many lovely pots and hanging baskets on my travels along the east coast and also in Shrewsbury on my way back home. I love it that towns and cities do this sort of thing even if I’m not a huge fan of bedding plants per se.

Oh, I loved the flowers and especially the hanging baskets. It is my goal to create a gorgeous hanging basket for this summer.
