Exploring England #16
More than 10 million people visit the Peak District National Park every year. Many of them were at the picturesque village of Castleton with us. Try as I might, it was impossible to take people-free photos. Even when I thought I’d got one, someone was always there!

I feel the same about cars. How often have I seen a scene and waited and waited for a gap in the traffic. Or had a car or a van arrive and park just where I was about to photograph. I suspect they lie in wait for passing photographers…

I think there is a network of tourists and they see us coming and spread the word!

I have that problem with birds, as soon as I lift my camera they fly off!

It is so beautiful in that area. We only visited for a day but we really need to go back for a week at least.

I have learned to be patient and wait, and wait, and wait. Then give up and find another angle! Good shadow though so all was not lost 🙂

Mr ET is much more persistent than I am at getting people-free photos. It turned out to be the perfect shot for this particular challenge. 🙂

Hehe I always come across areas that are people free in professional photos but when you get there, it’s teeming with people. I wonder if they just get up at the crack of dawn to get those shots!

It’s been 38 degrees C both days so I haven’t done much at all. It’s even too hot to sit at the computer for long. I’m sitting right under the fan at the moment. I even went to the gym yesterday to take advantage of the air conditioning! We don’t have air con at home. 😦

It’s been the hottest February day on recordj today. The hottest place in Queensland was Thargomindah, in Western Queensland at 47.2 degrees and here it got to 40.8. Roasting!

Actually, I like the 2 obscured people in this photo. It tells a story. Sometimes those less-than-ideal shots turn out to be pretty interesting.

You’re right, Gabe. I rarely delete photos off the camera before I look at them on the computer. Sometimes they are worth keeping even though they don’t look great. I liked this one.
