Canada #26 Rogers Centre, Toronto
The Rogers Centre, in Toronto’s CBD, is a huge multi-purpose stadium in downtown Toronto. It was the first of its kind to have a fully retractable roof and has a hotel with 70 rooms overlooking the field. The stadium hosts both football and baseball games and is home to the Toronto Blue Jays.
How do you know when it’s game day at the Rogers Centre? Look for the sea of blue!
Blue banners featuring Blue Jays players flap in the breeze right around the outside of the stadium.
Fans in team shirts enjoy the pre-game entertainment inside.
Massive screens project Blue Jays logos, encouraging fans and team alike.
Even the seats in the stands are blue.
Team mascot Ace struts around the stadium before the game, adding to the excitement and anticipation.
Once the game starts things get serious: Toronto Blue Jays vs Baltimore Orioles
Batter up!
And the final result: Blue Jays 8 Orioles 7!
The Rogers Stadium is immense. We tried to get tickets when we were living there but everything was sold out, such a shame. Listened to the crowd from the brewery bar across the road though. Brilliant memories.

Our daughter got these tickets. We were way up high, but the view was great.

Looks like a fun time was had by all. Staying in that hotel must be a real adventure.

We did have a fun night. It was our first ever baseball game and of course we had to have hot dogs!

Seeing the game at the stadium is always fun. Love the excitement in the air. The crowd. The noise. And, of course, the hot dogs. Loved the games since I was a kid near Chicago. Fortunately Denver has major teams also. Great post, again. 🌭⚾️

This was our first ever baseball game and we had a great time. We had hot dogs for dinner too. 🙂

Love it. Glad you experienced a home game. And the home team won. Love your Canadian posts.

It was nice to see a win for the Blue Jays. You need to organise a Canadian holiday! The ducks would love it.

Perhaps September or October? We would love it.

That was wonderful! At first I thought you were writing about fried foods, so was relieved when it all came together on the field 🙂

I’m sure you can get fried food there, Pauline! 🙂 We had hot dogs. It was such a fun outing and nice to see the Blue Jays win.

Nice statues in the grandstands.

Aren’t they great. They are right around the outside of the stadium.

Love the sculpture! Great write up…I’ve never seen a live baseball game.

This was our first game and we had a great time. The sculpture is one of a set around the outside of the stadium.

Very cool.
My next post coming out is on Boston but also includes the NFL game we saw. I’m not a follower but it was an amazing vibe!

We’re not baseball followers either but couldn’t miss the opportunity to go to a game.

I was amazed at how quiet the roof opened and closed, great stadium to watch a game

We didn’t see the roof moving, but it would be the same as the one on Rod Laver Arena at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia. It’s incredible how quickly it goes.

Thirty five years ago we attended a Blue Jays game but it was in the old stadium. This looks like a fabulous facility

The stadium is quite amazing. There are so many food outlets and the bathrooms have museum type displays in them on all sorts of topics.

My memories of baseball are far more modest, being set in a small town in Saskatchewan. My cousin was the pitcher for the home team , he was handsome, and much admired! I still remember the sound of the bat hitting that baseball, and hoping for a home run for the home team.

We saw a few home runs. It was exciting. Is your cousin still handsome?

When I saw the title of this post I thought it was going to be about pancakes, or yorkshire puddings! 😀 It looks like a good outing – but did you understand what was going on? I tried watching a baseball match on TV and was completely confused!

I tricked a couple of people with this title. We’re familiar with softball so we could follow this game quite easily.

Ah, you have the advantage over me then because I know nothing about softball either! 😀

I used to play it at school.

I’ve never seen a baseball game but one advantage is that I think I know how it works! 😛

We knew about softball and t-ball so we had a fair idea how the game worked and what was happening. It was quite exciting at times.

Did you enjoy the game, Carol, or was it more about atmosphere? The stadium looks immense, and that’s a great sculpture you’ve closed with. 🙂 🙂

We did enjoy both the game and the atmosphere, Jo. We’d never been to a baseball game but we’re quite familiar with softball so we knew what was happening.

Nice article. I wish everyone would stop calling it Rogers Centre, though. That is not its birth name. #skydomeforever

I did read that and I know how you feel. It’s annoying when the name changes depending on which company is sponsoring the building. I like the name Skydome too.
