Canada #45
“What was the best thing about your trip?”
We’re often asked this question when we return from a holiday and it’s always difficult to give just one answer. After five weeks in Canada, here are the things we loved best.
The Best Party
The Best Airbnb View
The Best Water View
The Best Mountain Views
The Best Wildlife Encounters
raccoon family, Mount Royal, Montréal QC
and the squirrels, who were everywhere!
The Best Food
The Best Garden
The Best Adventures
So many wonderful experiences in a truly amazing country. Canada, we’ll be back!
It all looks spectacular, that’s always a hard question when someone asks what was the best bit? We’ve had that question even after covering half the country. 🤷🏼♀️ I do the same as you and break it up into categories. Those sundaes though we pretty fantastic.

The sundaes wer great and I had a different one every day we were in Quebec. 🙂 You can’t go wrong with chocolate and ice cream, especially on hot days.

Wow, so many awesome pictures and such wonderful memories. How can you possibly name just one. So much to love in such a beautiful country. That chocolate made me drool and as for that rainbow over Niagara Falls, wow, what a birthday present!

It was a special birthday that’s for sure – one to remember.

I can see why they are the best. What a collection. I must say Niagara is my pick of the bunch! 🙂

Niagara day was great. We would like to return to that area and stay for several days. There is much more than just the falls to see there.

Canadian tourism would love this post. Impressive photos, and that ice cream looks good enough to cause one to travel all by itself. All the photos were wonderful, but I do love that hummingbird shot.

We went to Chocolato every day we were in Quebec and I had a different sundae each time. Lucky we did lots of walking. Mr ET took the photo of the hummingbird.

I could walk all day if one of those sundaes was at the end of the trip. 🙂

What difficult choices to make but your selection of highlights is lovely. I love the grizzly bear.

It was nice to share some favourite places. You might enjoy reading more about the grizzlies at Grouse Mountain in this post. https://theeternaltraveller.wordpress.com/2018/12/09/theres-a-bear-in-there/

You should be working for Tourism Canada!! Wonderful photos to remember your holiday – and for others to enjoy it too. You certainly lucked out with your Vancouver airbnb.

It is a fabulous country and I think you have done a great job with your round-up. The highlight for me is that Hummingbird photo – how lucky were you!

Mr ET took the hummingbird photo. It’s a beauty isn’t it. Sadly, I didn’t even see the bird because I was busy taking a photo of the loos!

There’s an even better one but I didn’t use it because I’ve been encouraging him to enter it in a photographic competition.

I am surprised that you listed Jardins Gamelins. I do not really feel safe enough in the Berri area to stay for a while even during daytime…

Our Airbnb was a ten minute walk from here and there was no time, day or night, when we didn’t feel safe. There were so many families out enjoying all the activities. We loved it.

It’s taken me a year to write about everything we did and I’ve enjoyed reliving it all so much. Thanks Jo.

Oh yes, we had a wonderful time. The best part was visiting our daughter who was living in Toronto at the time.

I can see why people love Canada. It looks to have the most breathtakingly beautiful scenery.

Breathtaking is the perfect word. We couldn’t get enough of snow-capped mountains. And there is so much water. Mr ET decided Canada is all water with some land in between.

That’s probably an apt discription.

Glad to hear you will return. I have learned a lot about my own country following along with you. I’ll be in the watch for your ‘bests’. By the way I hope that grizzly bear wasn’t as close to you as it looks. Wow!

The grizzly is one of the two at Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, and yes we were that close but they were inside their beautiful enclosure.

Everywhere we went the views were stunning, especially of mountains with snow still on them. Such a rare sight for us.
