Top o’ the Morning #4

Western Queensland Road Trip Square Tops Challenge #19

It’s breakfast time!

A brown honeyeater displays his determination to get to the sweetest flowers.

A juvenile spotted bower bird helps himself to a pomegranate.

And a honeybee finds these blossoms irresistible.

While our travels are on hold, I’m joining in every day with Becky’s April Square Tops Challenge over at The Life of B. The rules are simple: photos must be square and fit the theme word “top”.

      • In my previous house there was a well grown wattle tree beside the Juliet balcony off my dining room where I often took morning coffee at the weekends, watching the water sparkling on the bay, my cat ambling along the shore with the herons and tuis hanging every which way to get at the nectar….. That was a lovely spot!

  1. You even have a topsy turvy there! I love watching the birds and bees in the garden. I was watching a Magpie having a bath this morning in my ‘bird bath’ (really just a puddle on the large flat rock in the garden). He must have had fleas on his breast or something as he kept coming back and rubbing his breast on the rock in the water and then sitting on the fence to preen his feathers and shake his wings. A lovely sight.
