Dried Up

SquareUp Photo Challenge: Camping at Carnarvon Gorge, October 2020 #8

Cycads are endemic to central Queensland and grow prolifically in Carnarvon Gorge. Descended from prehistoric plants which grew at least 280 million years ago, cycads bear either male or female cones. While local indigenous people used the cones as a nutritious food source, don’t be tempted! They store large amounts of cyanide and are highly toxic, unless treated correctly before eating.

In January Iโ€™m joining in with Beckyโ€™s Square Photo Challenge over atย The Life of B. The rules are simple: most photos must be square and fit the theme word up. Look for #SquareUp
