SquareUp Photo Challenge: Camping at Carnarvon Gorge, October 2020 #11
Native hibiscus buds, at first tightly closed, open up to reveal sunshine yellow petals.
In January I’m joining in with Becky’s Square Photo Challenge over at The Life of B. The rules are simple: most photos must be square and fit the theme word up. Look for #SquareUp
That’s one of my absolute favourites! Our next door neighbour used to have one on her doorstep and it smiled at me every morning 🙂 🙂

We had blue skies like this every day, although there were some storms in the late afternoons. Gorgeous weather for camping and walking. 🙂

I do like a hibiscus flower. We have three hibiscus bushes in our garden, planted by previous occupants, and every summer they flower faithfully. The three bushes are different colours – a white, a pale pink and a dark pink.

They’re lovely and we see them everywhere here. They seem to be very hardy.

Very hardy – my three shrubs coped with several months out of the ground, roots bare, while we waited to move them to a different part of the garden after some paving work was completed!

They are pretty! I just can’t imagine what it must be like to live where it snows so much. After the wonderful rain we’ve had, this is the land of green. 🙂
