SquareUp Photo Challenge: Camping at Carnarvon Gorge, October 2020 #12
In springtime the native hibiscus are in full bloom. As well as the vivid yellows, these delicate flowers come in pastel pinks.
In January I’m joining in with Becky’s Square Photo Challenge over at The Life of B. The rules are simple: most photos must be square and fit the theme word up. Look for #SquareUp
That’s pretty too! 🙂 🙂 They don’t grow in the wild, Carol, but in gardens?

Yes, these are growing out in the wild, in the bush. They are native hibiscus, a bit different from the garden varieties.

I did some research. There are 250 species of hibiscus in the world, growing in tropical and temperate climates. Of these, 35 are native to Australia.

They were all through the bush and every now and then we would come across a giant bush covered with flowers, right beside the track.

I truly love Hibiscus, but have had difficulty with growing it in my garden. I always wonder if the winter is just too cold. Thanks for sharing your.

I think they’re probably suited to more temperate climates.
