SquareUp Photo Challenge: Camping at Carnarvon Gorge, October 2020 #17
The lookout at Boolimba Bluff is somewhere up there. To see the amazing views from the lookout, we’ll have to walk 3.2km and climb up 900 steps.
In January I’m joining in with Becky’s Square Photo Challenge over at The Life of B. The rules are simple: most photos must be square and fit the theme word up. Look for #SquareUp
900 steps – daunting!

It was a great walk and only the last 300 steps were challenging. You’ll see them in the next post. 🙂

We went first thing in the morning and just took our time. I went at my own pace and caught up with Mr ET at the top. It wasn’t difficult, just a long way up. 🙂

It wasn’t as challenging as it sounds, although you would definitely need a certain level of fitness. It was a matter of going at my own pace and being careful. It was worth the effort.

The black in those rock formations look a lot like the rocks we have here in Prescott. They are not as huge, or steep, of course, just the coloring.

I think the black is probably microscopic plant life.

Interesting. I had assumed it was a different kind of rock. I never would have suspected that.

It’s all sandstone, with a shallow basalt cap on the top.
