I’m joining Becky in her July Square Photo Challenge over at The Life of B. The rules of the challenge are simple: most photos must be square and fit the theme word tree. Look for #treesquare. Come with me on a Central Queensland road trip starring trees and the beautiful landscapes of my home state.
Araluen Cascades, Finch Hatton Gorge
Finch Hatton Creek flows down the mountain, carving a path through the sub-tropical rainforest.
Flowing across ancient volcanic granite, it tumbles over the rocks at Araluen Cascades into two deep pools before continuing downhill.
Beautiful photos. We used to camping nearby at Eungella

It looks inviting for a dip.

Yes, it does look inviting but the water was freezing. Swimming is allowed but no one was going in that day.

If the water was freezing, I don’t blame them! Maybe refreshing though on a very hot day?

Maybe. I’m not a cold water swimmer so I’d be giving it a miss at any time of year.

Looks amazing. Did you swim there?

No way! It was May and the water was icy cold. It’s probably always cold because it originates up in the mountains. I am definitely not a cold water swimmer.

It’s so nice to see places that I’ve been to again! 😀 The colour of the sky and green are amazingly gorgeous.

When we can’t travel far, it’s a treat to revisit special places online.

Did we forget to go to this lovely place, Carol? How glorious to stick my thonged feet into the stream. Ooops, there went my thong! Remember those crazy folks that wore thongs on their hike in the woods?

Well, this national park is 1000 km from our home so taking you there wasn’t an option. Yes, some people just don’t know what to wear when walking. 🙂

I was kidding, but you do go so many interesting places. 1000 km 621 miles. Yes, that is a ways. That’s even farther than Prescott from Woodlake, so a good day and a half to get there. Wow!
