Weekly Photo Challenge ~ On The Move

On a sunny July day there is sure to be a long queue to buy tickets to the Eiffel Tower and nobody moves anywhere fast.

If you want to get to the third floor viewing platform quickly the elevator is the way to go. But if you prefer to take your time, you can enjoy the views and the cooling breezes while climbing the 706 steps to the second floor. It may take longer but the achievement will make a great travel story when you’re home again.

And if you’re very lucky the rehearsals for Bastille Day festivities will include a fly past by three jets, just as you exit the tower at the end of the day.

A wonderful reward for all that effort!

  1. Fab photos! We are headed to Paris this summer, and I am not looking forward to the long lines everywhere!

    • When we were there you couldn’t pre-purchase tickets for the Eiffel Tower but now I think you can. It would be worth it because it took us more than three hours from joining the queue to reaching the third floor. The secret to avoiding the queues is to start early every day. You will have a wonderful time!

      • Yes, unfortunately the day I need the tickets for was sold out before I had a chance to get any (due to the 8 hours time difference), so it’s the normal line up for us. We are planning on going late in the evening, so hopefully it will be a little less busy.
