As part of Becky’s April Bright Square Photo Challenge over at The Life of B, I’ve opened the archives to January 2020 to share our 19 day trip to USA. Join me on a pictorial travelogue of the best and brightest of our pre-pandemic adventures in California and Nevada! The rules of the challenge are simple: most photos must be square and fit the theme word bright. Look for #brightsquare.
Postcards from America
Welcome to Las Vegas – city of glittering lights and flashy buildings, built on dreams and wishes.
After dark the neon lights of the Strip glowed and the street was almost as bright as day.
What a city!

If you’re going to be dazzled anywhere I guess it’s Vegas 🙂 🙂

Absolutely, it was incredible. I kept on stopping to look at things and take photos.

Fabulous photos of an incredible city. Sort of had a love/hate reeling about it when we visited but can deny how great everything looks.

We enjoyed ourselves and had a great time looking at everything. We also used it as a base to go to the Grand Canyon so it was a very useful location.

It’s been quite a few years, but I use to go to Vegas every once in a while for a conference. It is like going to Disneyland for adults ‘if’ you like gambling. I don’t gamble but did enjoy the carnival atmosphere like your light display.

That’s a good way to describe it, even if you’re not gambling. We’re not gamblers but we certainly found enough to see and do while we were there without doing that. I did blow $2 on a poker machine – the last of the big spenders! 🙂

Great photos! Vegas doesn’t know the meaning of ‘understated’. 😀

Very true – it was all excessive and over the top but I’m glad I’ve been. It was a fun place to visit once.

I agree. I am very glad to have been there, but I think once might be enough.

It’s somewhere I’m glad I’ve been once, but don’t feel the need to revisit. Definitely unique!

I feel the same way. We had lots of fun, went to three amazing shows, ate some great food and really enjoyed ourselves. But I don’t really need to go again.

It is certainly a ‘bright’ city. We just drove to the airport and left!

Light pollution. Bet there is no star gazing happening there!

I love that picture of Excalibur. I have a similar one taken in the daylight. Yours is brilliant. mine is fun. That first picture of NY, NY almost seems like a model. The lighting on it is perfect. Such a fun display of buildings. 🙂

I think Excalibur is the prettiest of all the buildings.
