As part of Becky’s April Bright Square Photo Challenge over at The Life of B, I’ve opened the archives to January 2020 to share our 19 day trip to USA. Join me on a pictorial travelogue of the best and brightest of our pre-pandemic adventures in California and Nevada! The rules of the challenge are simple: most photos must be square and fit the theme word bright. Look for #brightsquare.
Postcards from America
When the sun went down the lights turned on at Santa Monica Pier.
And the best view of the night lights was from the top of the Pacific Wheel.
Wow some beauties there!

Did you go on many of the rides?

Only the ferris wheel. It was more fun to watch than ride the others.

I’d be just the same – it’s fun watching other people having fun. 🙂

Such fun, but you won’t get me on a big wheel. Just looking down on the view in your picture makes me feel queasy!

Look away Jude! We can’t have you feeling unwell. 🙂 I’m happy to go on the ferris wheels for you.

One of my California Council for the Social Studies friends lives in a tiny apartment right at the edge of the beach by the pier. We spent many hours planning for conferences and walking the beach. Your pictures are so fun and I love the different perspectives.

I know! She only paid $900 per month for a tiny one bedroom apartment. It was probably about 350-500 square feet. She got it during a price freeze or something and they hadn’t raised her rent for years. It was amazing.
