A new adventure begins! We fly to Melbourne where we spend a couple of days before embarking on the cruise ship Grand Princess for a 13 night circumnavigation of New Zealand. Returning to land, our holiday continues at Phillip Island and ends with one last day back where we started in Melbourne. Join me for a round trip, on sea and on land, to destinations both familiar and new.

During the three sea days at the end of our cruise, we enjoyed
- calm seas, pastel skies and rainbows over the ocean
- entertaining cooking demonstrations
- and spectacular cakes

The desserts and cakes on the ship were all so delicious. Luckily we did lots of walking to offset the extra calories.

It would almost be sad to cut into those cakes. Hard to cut into the one with the chocolate and meringue(?) tower on top without the whole lot collapsing. Were the cookery demos about how to make it? Love the photo with the smoke/steam and nervous eek-I-hope-it-hasn’t-gone-wrong look on the face of one of the chefs!

The chefs did demonstrate a couple of recipes but it was also a bit of light entertainment. They were very intent on making fun of each other. It was very funny.

We were lucky to see the rainbow. It only lasted a few seconds. A bit like the cakes! 🙂
