SquareUp Photo Challenge: Camping at Carnarvon Gorge, October 2020 #10
A new frond unfurls from the centre of a tree fern.
In January I’m joining in with Becky’s Square Photo Challenge over at The Life of B. The rules are simple: most photos must be square and fit the theme word up. Look for #SquareUp
I ❤ ferns. We have some growing in pots, waiting for cooler weather, to transplant in a shady part of my garden.

I’ve never had much success with potted ferns. They probably get too hot here. Good luck with yours.

They look delicate but they’re so hardy. Tree ferns are often among the first plants to regenerate after a fire.

I’ve got a few which have appeared from nowhere in my garden – just love them

I love ferns and I love seeing those rolled up, unfurling ones. Beautiful koru.

They are always lovely to come across and I always have to take at least one photo.

Unfurling fronds of ferns and tree ferns are so photogenic. I cannot resist when I see one and luckily there are plenty of tree ferns in our Cornish gardens.

I find curled up ferns so clever. It’s amazing to think that the whole frond is in there, just waiting to unfurl.
